About Us

 

My name is Julie Degen.  We currently live in Catlett, Virginia. 

I've been married since 1987 to my husband, E.J., a career Army officer who has been on active duty since 1986.  I have been playing the dog game all over the world (from Korea to Germany and points in between) since 1987.  

 

We breed on a very limited basis and are members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater Kansas City, and are signers of the GSDCA Breeder's Code of Ethics.  Besides showing in the conformation ring, I also do various performance events with all of our dogs. 

 
I have enjoyed most dog sports at one time or another but at this time, I'm mainly doing conformation, agility, herding, & tracking.  I have earned advanced level titles on multiple dogs in agility, herding & obedience.  I have also titled many dogs, both my own and those belonging to friends, in conformation, tracking, herding, obedience, rally, and flyball.  
 
E.J. and I have 2 human children, Jim & Keri.  They are a great help with the dogs and superb puppy socializers. 
 
Jim has his own Border Collie, Radar, who does everything we ask of him.  Since Jim is now in college (he is a cadet at West Point), I have a wonderful time playing with Radar in multiple sports. 
Keri has an independent cat named Trip and is showing our Papillon "Willow" in Junior Handling as well as specialing her on occasion.
